Re: Are YOU Tired Of Municipalities Violating PA Firearms Preemption Law?
Just received a reply from Godshall- If this bill comes up he probably will support it. He wants to look at what changes if any are made before making a commitment.

Re: Are YOU Tired Of Municipalities Violating PA Firearms Preemption Law?
I really don't like the language of this bill.
As this proposed a.2 is written, it is giving tolerance to existing local regulations and leaving it up to someone to challenge the regulation in court. It's pretty much useless.
A better (a.2) might be:
(a.2) Aggravated Official Oppression
"Any person who enacts, causes to be enacted, or causes to remain in force beyond the date 120 days after the passage of this act, by virtue of conferred legislative powers, any law, ordinance, or other regulation upon the lawful possession or carriage of firearms by persons not otherwise prohibited to do so, shall be guilty of a Felony of the third degree."
IOW, if you are sitting on one of these idiotic town boards, and you either enact an illegal ordinance, or fail to repeal the existing ordinance, you're going to spend some time in a PA DoC facility.
