Re: New shotgun
I've seen some nice bluing jobs using Perma blue. Its a bit dark for me. I have used it for touch up jobs and have no complaints.
I would recommend Brownell's Oxpho Blue for large jobs. I've used it several times to reblue entire guns and have received wonderful results. I find the paste is easier to work with that the liquid. With the home bluing process', the more prep time the better the result.
Not being from Pa., I not very good with all locations. I noticed your in Sinking Spring in Berks Co. I'm not sure of the county, but there is a Sinking Spring off Rt 222 near Reading. There is a shop nearby call Enck's Gun Barn out in Newmanstown. He stocks Oxpho Blue paste. Cabella's stocks the liquid.
Any decently equipped gun shop will probably have the Birchwood Casey products. Dick's may even have it. Not many carry Oxpho Blue.
