Anyone with issues with being declined Form 1's?

I ask because my fiancee is buying me my tax stamp for my birthday! But she is worried that she would have written out a check and possibly get declined for what ever reason it may be. Has this ever been an issue? Is the $200 tax refundable if declined? I see no reason why I would be declined (I have my LTCF as of last year), just curious and would set her mind at ease.

The only reasons that I have heard for a declined Form 1 was for trying to make a machine gun (after the May 86 ban).

As long as the two Form 1s are filled in correctly, including the sign off section and that you include the fingerprint cards, compliance certificate, and the most important check for $200 you should be ok.


BTW If the Form 1 is declined they will refund the $200...eventually!

I had one more question regarding Form 1's.

I noticed a lot of other threads regarding Form 1's require a "drawing" of the firearm. I am building an SBR, does that mean I need to make a drawing of my SBR? If so, how can this be done? Rough pencil paper drawing? CAD format? Photoshop?

No, you don't have to send a drawing for your Form 1. I have sent in six Form 1s (1 DD, 2 SBR, 3 SBS) and I never had an issue.
