Must a LTCF be carried on your person ?
The reason I ask is that sometimes I leave my wallet in my vehicle. Yeah, I know, don't do that! But I do, sometimes. OK, that established, I get out of my vehicle and go into a WAWA and I'm CCing. As I walk out of there, a LEO see's me printing and acting nervous. He (in his mind) has RAS and stops me and asks for my LTCF. My answer is yes I do have it and it's in my vehicle. Am I within the law?
Must I carry it at all times that I CC? Must it be in my possession or must I just possess one? These are the two main questions I would like to have an answer too.
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge,

Re: Must a LTCF be carried on your person ?
I believe as the law is written you must be in possession of your LTCF and other ID whenever you are concealed carrying. And this is also what I was told when I picked up my last LTCF on renewal.
I Am Not A Lawyer, and I don't even play one on the internet. Never mistake my opinion for legal advice. If you do need legal advise, seek it from those who get paid to give it, I know I do.

Why not just look up the law?...
18Pa.C.S.6122
§ 6122. Proof of license and exception.
1. General rule. -- When carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle, an individual licensed to carry a firearm shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce the license for inspection. Failure to produce such license either at the time of arrest or at the preliminary hearing shall create a rebuttable presumption of nonlicensure.
2. Exception. -- An individual carrying a firearm on or about his person or in a vehicle and claiming an exception under section 6106(b) (relating to firearms not to be carried without a license) shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce satisfactory evidence of qualification for exception.

Re: Must a LTCF be carried on your person ?
Not correct. You have no obligation to even possess, let alone carry a government issued ID. Ideally, you should have your LTCF in your possession when concealing (or doing something else that requires it), but the statute allows you the opportunity to present it at the time of arrest or preliminary hearing.
§6122. Proof of License and Exception.
(a) General rule.-When carrying a firearm concealed on or about one's person or in a vehicle, an individual licensed to carry a firearm shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce the license for inspection. Failure to provide such license, either at the time of arrest or at the preliminary hearing, shall create a rebuttable presumption of nonlicensure.
(b) Exception.-An individual carrying a firearm on or about his person or in a vehicle and claiming an exception under section 6106(b) (relating to firearms not to be carried with*out a license) shall, upon lawful demand of a law enforcement officer, produce satisfactory ev*idence of qualification for exception.

Re: Must a LTCF be carried on your person ?
ID not required to carry. Only LTCF if concealed, vehicle, etc.
Safe from what? GTO? Being arrested unlawfully... For not providing ID?
Would that ever happen?
Greg point is that while you may feel having ID, although not required, as a way to make things easier on yourself is fine and dandy.... it is NOT a legal requirement as your post suggested._________________________________________

Re: Must a LTCF be carried on your person ?
The instructor at my Utah non-resident class said that we did not have to have it with us-just be able to produce one. I don't necessarily agree with this. He suggested we make a color copy of it in case our wallet was stolen or we lost it. I have since done this as it seems like a good idea.
