    Default Real World Personal Defense with Walt Rauch

    Only one week left to REAL WORLD PERSONAL DEFENSE WITH WALT RAUCH and YOURS TRULY on Saturday, Jan. 9th from 9AM until 5PM. You can still pre-register or pay at the door.

    My role will really be ancillary. Walt is a very unique person and teaches a lot of wisdom. He has dedicated a good portion of his career to developing the shooting sports as a medium for honing one's skills and practicing how to handle real world personal defense scenarios.

    Walt served our country as a Special Agent in U.S. Army Intelligence, as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service and as an Investigator with the Philadelphia PA Fugitive Squad where he made over 2,000 felony arrests. He has been around the block a few times and has learned many lessons.

    Currently he is most well known as a gun writer for gun magazines such as Combat Handguns, Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement, Handguns Magazine, Guns & Ammo Magazine, and Police & Security News. He is also the author of the book, "Real World Survival: What Has Worked For Me".

    EQUIPMENT: Dress comfortably. Students should bring an unloaded personal handgun (revolver or semi-automatic pistol), a concealment holster, and 300 rounds of ammunition (not reloads). Handguns will be available for students who do not have their own (please notify us at the time of registration), and holsters can be provided for use during the class for those students who have not yet found one. You may bring your own ammunition, or if you wish, ammo can also be purchased at the range shop.

    This day long seminar will impart practical information taken from first-hand experience to teach students how to develop the ultimate tools for surviving in an increasingly hostile society. The seminar will provide Walt's unique insights regarding:

    * The winning mindset
    * Mental tools for building self confidence
    * Using weapons of opportunity
    * The ultimate defense
    * Integrating armed and unarmed defensive methods
    * Choosing the right equipment
    * Shooting fundamentals
    * Reality based shooting
    * Weapon deployment and presentations from concealment
    * Deception and the element of surprise
    * Skill building dry fire drills
    * Skill building live fire drills
    * Making the most of your training time

    why are you posting it again ?

    If you have spots left or info to add or updates or somesuch normally the thing to do would just be to post in the thread you already started.

    I'm assuming that this course is all indoors. Do I need any outdoor gear?

    Tootie and I planned to be there but her foot hurts too much to handle a 2.5 hour drive there, the class and then the drive back ... sucks but what can you do?

    If I know Bruce it's going to be a great class ... enjoy and wish we could be there!

    Just dress warmly in layers. Even indoors the range can be frigid.
