    Default Dis-Assembling Shotgun Shells?

Well, My buddies who arent too bright say i cant dissassemble a shotgun shell without getting my hand blown off. Well, i have my doubts but i know its possible. And so i can thus prove them wrong i'd like to know how i could pull it off. I know its kinda off topic but, i guess its firearm related. Any help would be apreciated. And if this is off topic please tell me and i wont post about this kind of stuff in the same section . And any pictures or video would be awsome. But just plain text would also work.

    Thanks,
    Ryan . O

Well maybe I was stupid, but I cut open countless shotgun shells, when I was a kid, to retrieve the pellets for my sling shot (buck shot obviously) and the powder for other means. Back then I use to reload shot shells often. I would not hesitate to cut one open today, although I can't think of a legitimate reason to do so, other than survival. The other thing left would be pressing the primer out.
I’m quite sure again that at least a few times I knocked a primer out of a reload for one reason or another. I wouldn’t recommend that, but again I would do it without great fear.
This was accomplished with a reloader however.

Peel the crimp up, from the center. Dump the pellets, use a piece of wire or a pick to lift the wad out, dump the powder. No big deal, but I really see no reason why.

Have you guys never herad of a kinetic hammer?

Kinetic Hammer - This tool allows you to disassemble cartridges if something went wrong in production. An example, you set the scale for 43 grains of powder instead of the intended 40.3 grains. You place the cartridge into one of the supplied collets, screw the cartridge and collet into the hammer, and hit against a cushioned hard surface (a few layers of towels against the bathroom floor will prevent damage to both hammer and floor). The inertia of the bullet eventually pulls itself out of the case, with the powder and bullet caught in the bottom of the hammer. The primed case, powder, and projectile can now be salvaged for reuse.
Skeet is a sport where you are better to hit half of each bird then completely blast one and miss the other completely.
