Thanks. It's sexual attraction increased tenfold once I took off the plastic furniture and dressed it for the dance.
    Proper Yugo grip now too.

    Magpul stuff arrived today.

    SLR-104FR (5.45x39mm) in plum

The FDE MVG will be dyed plum by a coworker, since Magpul doesn't make the MVG in plum for some reason.

    SLR-106FR (5.56x45mm) in black

    SLR-107CR (7.62x39mm) in OD green

The triangle folding stock is wrapped in OD green 550 cord. Will be SBR'd eventually.

All three are also wearing a ranger green MS1 sling that uses the factory sling loop on the stock and Magpul's paraclip attachment point on the hand guard. I once had a sling mounted directly to the integral sling attachment on the SLR-106FR...but it melted off.

Just felt the need to share pics of this supposedly still operational Chinese type 56 taken off of an African poacher last year in 2016. Note the fine wood furniture and the baling wire and twine used to affix the furniture. Anyone know where I can get that peened finish look locally? These pics are from a linked article at arfcom.

    Dayum!

That 'peened' finish is very expensive as it requires years of exposure to the elements, combined with a certain disregard for protective oils and/or lubricants. There may be a gunsmith that could duplicate it, but travel to the India Pakistani border area to find him ia also not cheap and a bit dangerous.

The fact it still worked is a tibute to the design.

Wasr 10/63 that I won at auction. I have an Opap, and had been wanting to get another AK variant. I ended up bidding on and winning a Wasr. I'll include the auction photo, what it looked like when I got it, and what it looks like today. I wasn't too happy with it originally, but I'm liking it now. I'd like to take it shooting tomorrow. The rear sight is crooked, so I might need to do a little more work on it. So far, I've coated the furniture in two coats of amber shellac, added a Polish grip, replaced the sheperd's hook with a Tapco retainer, and added a dong grip.

I just added a Vortex to my Wasr and a Primary Arms 3x ACSS to my Yugo. In a sense, I don't like to do this as takes away from the look a little. On the other hand, I like practicality. My thinking is the Wasr is lighter with a grip, so a red dot would work well. I figured the 3x would work better on the Opap. But, the Opap is starting to look a little too "tacti cool". IDK. It's hard to do much with the Opap. I want a sling, and the folder offers a swivel. I have a Magpul paraclip on the sling so I can easily remove it to remove the swivel so I can remove the scope mount. Hence all the new crap on it.

What mount (brand) did you use on the Yugo?

I like both of the AK's. Cool.
