choke for 00 buckshot
Hey all hope the holiday treated everyone well. I am going to be using a shorter barrel mossy 12 gauge ulti mag for deer using 00 buck for 5c during the first week of deer since I cant get up to my camp in 3c until the second week because of work. Should I go with a modified or full choke?

IMHO
Cylinder choke or Improved cylinder would be my choice.
Out your two go with the most open choke which would be modifiedThe oracle is in. Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!!

Re: choke for 00 buckshot
What distance are you expecting? Never hunted with buckshot, but spent some time playing around with it. Looked like one of the major influences on patterns was the ammo itself. Only real way to tell would be some testing. Cardboard box at distances anticipated could be revealing. Other than that my guess would be open or improved if within 20 yds. and mod if beyond that.
It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.
