    Default The most accurate rifle

I was just wondering if anyone knew what the most accurate rifle is. I am not talking about which one made the longest kill (Tac-50) but what is certified as the most accurate rifle. Are we talking half MOA, quarter MOR, or even less than that?

Once again, I am talking about the absolute best. Spare no expense. It is just a curiosity that I had and I could not find any source that actually said "THIS is the most accurate rifle in existence".

I don't think anyone can answer that question.

Which pots and pans cook the finest gourmet meals?

    I'll pay any price.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Most accurate to what range? In what conditions? If you're talking pure mechanical accuracy at "normal" rifle ranges, probably a custom rifle bolted to a rail, firing some crazy custom caliber like 6mmPPC, with handloaded ammo created with painstakingly sorted and measured/weighed components for consistency.
Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

That is a trick question as there is no one certified accurate rifle.

They all have their little quirks and they all have their favorite ammo that they will shoot, external ballistics are a funny thing, once that bullet leaves the barrel there are a ton of things that will affect it.

As for the TAC-50 that shot doesnt make it the most accurate rifle, it was a lucky shot that was made on the 4th round and the hold off was guess work at its best, as there wasnt enough windage or elevation to make that shot.
And Mr. Furlong will tell you the same thing.

Its all guess work and if you get a rifle that shoots well keep it. aside from a full blown custom bench rifle, all rifle's a capable of shooting better then any of us will ever beable to wring out of them. and even a full house custom will always out shoot the shooter.

There is no true "most accurate" rifle. A well skilled shooter using a $200 Handi Rifle may be able to put 3 bullets through the same hole @ 100yrd, where a novice using the most refined $25000 rifle may not be able to hit the paper at the same distance.

Not to mention environmental conditions that effect the bullet for the benefit or detrimentally once it leaves the barrel.

As I have told may a kid asking the same thing about paintball guns....

Accuracy is in the hands of the gunholder.
