    3. As some of us will likely be OC, and prone to draw public attention, and perhaps even that of some LEO given the newness of this change, could his (intentional) association with our group cause grief for him from those in charge and jeopardize his future ability to continue as a guide?
He no longer is employed by the battlefield park. He is full time in the Army National Guard, he does have to do so many tours per year and take a test to maintain his credentials. I have organized groups (My Advanced NCO Course students) and he was happy with what ever we collected. Since this is not an un-official gather of soldiers I will ask him for a quote and if he would be willing to do it. He may decide that Feb in Gettysburg might be too cold to get him outside when he could be at home drinking a beer.

Do I need to suggest that we go into the Belly of the Beast and visit Independence Hall?

Well, I'm trying to avoid a long drive, which is why I selected Gettysburg. I hope some other folks catch on. I'd love to see a whole list of events like this at National Parks all across the state. Perhaps someone in the Philly area should organize an outing at the Philly venues (hint, hint).

Admittedly, I'd expect a bigger turnout in better weather (and I will plan another event then), but I for one simply can't let the change pass without marking it by exercising my newly recognized right to defend myself in yet another venue.

I believe the part of the statute under Section 930 says "incident to hunting or other lawful purpose.

After the phase in date in February, I was planning on resurrecting my communications w/ NPS's security guy re: carry within a "Federal facility", as it pertains to the Liberty Bell, in light of the new law.

When I do, I'll also, resurrect the old "Liberty Bell" thread.

    You are correct.

Personally, I'd much rather be the test case for school carry in PA than a federal violation (though a loss would yield the same results in either case), and I'm certainly not about to go OC on school grounds (except for that one time).

The visitors center area is very busy although I can't quite picture in my mind where the picnic area is. The other area is over by the Longstreet statue and is secluded.

I go through Gettysburg daily to get to work. (State Store)

I can check these out if you would like Greg or if you need anything else from the town. I'll be there everyday next week.

If you could scope out the "picnic area" near the visitor's center, and perhaps even snap a few photos, that would be great.

Also, info like to they have grills, etc. would be helpful.
