X-mass gift!
So nice wife of mine went out to Dick's, endured all their scrutiny(appearently, Dick's have REAL issues with wife buying gun for husband as gift. They were going to only sell her a gift card. But she stood on her ground, and argued. Good job, sweety!), and all their fees and got me this.
She remenberd I've been talking about that I want to building dedicated target gun(you know, using .920"Dia barrel, Silhouette, target trigger, the whole nine...), and dicided that she is gonna get me one.
Even remenber to get SS model(Eventho, I think only part of the gun thats SS is barrel..)
Boy, do I have a good wife or what?Last edited by Mity2; December 25th, 2009 at 11:18 PM.

Re: X-mass gift!
I guess it would have been fine if she just told them that she is buying one for herself, but she had to tell them the truth.
And she told the dude that gift card wouldn't be a great gift under the tree, not to mention won't be a suprise.
I guess may be they thought she was straw purchesing?
Eitherway, i guess after she filled out all the paper works, they won't let her take the gun to register. They had to escorted her to register, and to the car after she paid for it!
Appearently, I asked her unknowingly to come along to Dicks(I was looking for those spinny groundhog target for my niece, and some .22LR) day after she went through this few weeks ago, and she was being alwful negative about Dick's. Saying something about they don't let you try out the trigger before you buying the gun(appearently, they would not remove the trigger lock off of the gun when she went, unless she buy it first), and saying that thats like buying car without test driving it first.
I remenber thinkging why was she all sorts of pissed at themAudemus jura nostra defendere

Nice. I also have the stainless model. I put it in a bull pup stock. It didn't stay in it long. The trigger really sucked.
I put a bull barrel on one of my regular models. Then I rebuilt the trigger assembly.troll Free. It's all in your mind.

Re: X-mass gift!
My wife purchased me an Bushmaster & Beretta 1201 FP 12 ga. around 10 years ago & I later found out she just bought tham & she said it was none of their business who they were for..So she didn't tell them. I do have a CCP so It did't matter anyway. This will save the bitching from dumass's in the store's.

Re: X-mass gift!
Great wife you have there! 10/22's are one of my all time favorite firearms. I remember when I used to work at the Dick's in York and I didn't work in the Lodge (Hunting section) so I wasn't allowed to lay a finger on the guns. They were very anal. Apparently, they won't let non-lodge employees even handle the firearms if they haven't done a background check on you. I thought it was a little over the top, but oh well.
Enjoy that present!
