This one is in 38S&W.

I also have a Model 32 in 32S&W but I can't find the pics right now. They both belong to my Father-in-law, but reside at myhouse right now. He was shooting 32ACP from the 32!.

The 38 has a broken trigger spring I think.

Again, welcome to the forum. I'm glad you jumped right into things and started a thread. I used to have an H&R 999. A break open .22. It was a nice gun for small game but didn't lock up tight and therefore didn't go "Bang" every time. So I sold it and went to a single six. If the thing wasn't wore out, it would have been a great gun and I would still be using it for small game and fall turkey.

Yup, got a little H&R .32 S&W Model 1 5 shot revolver for my wife, and occasionally use the sucker for summer carry.

WELCOME to the forum and although I don't have any real experience with H&Rs, YOUR knowledge and offer are appreciated here. (well, maybe not by some of the mall ninjas, but thankfully we don't seem to be overflowing with them here!)

I did get to shoot a .22 H&R revolver last month and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Don't forget to post some photos in the gun pics section when you get a chance... if I have to look at another Glock photo with dirty socks in the background, I'm gonna scream.

949 1968 - first handgun I ever bought.

929 Side Kick came in it's original box, and it's from the first year of production for that model - 1956 I think.

Someone needs to do a book on H&R's.

Thanks for posting those pics and sharing your collection. You've got a real nice variety going there.
If there's anything you'd like to see, just ask. I have examples of about 95% of the various handguns that H&R made between 1876 and 1999, including some really rare pieces.
As to a book on H&R - it's coming, it should be published early next year. It will be the first book dealing specifically with H&R firearms of all types - the pictures I've been posting are part of the research and come from my collection which is part of the basis for the hardware part of the research - there are several other collectors working with the author who have some very nice H&R selections also.
Just as an example of something fairly rare take a look at this one:

and this one:
http://links.pictures.aol.com/pic/d1...p5Fd3Ig=_l.jpg This one is either first or second day of production in 1883 of the 1st variation American Double Action, which remained in production up to around 1942. It appears to be unfired.

One Flare gun collector told me that the British used similar guns during WW1 for illumination flares and as trench clearers - with buck shot rounds made specially for the 37mm bore.

Thanks for posting those pics and sharing your collection. You've got a real nice variety going there.

I never really went looking for them, seems like they'd usually find me! Wish I would have bought the H&R Reising subgun for $1000 when I was looking at it way back when! Mostly I collected them because I could afford to. I think the most I paid for one of them was the .32 auto. Think I gave about $150 for that.

If I can do anything to help with the book, let me know. Would be glad to supply close ups of markings, box pics, details or whatever.
