Re: H&R Firearms
We're going to need a bit more info. Complete physical description and copy what's stamped into barrel rib, left side, right side - or where ever - serial number will help determine age, once we can tell what the model is. If it is a pull-pin cylinder, solid frame - it is, most likely a model 622 - but need some help.

Re: H&R Firearms
AZZY - I know this is long overdue and somewhat dated - I apologize .... Your gun is "most likely" a model 1908. If so it should have a splinter type removable fore stock. If the forestock is screw attached to the barrel and there is a toggle head, removable hinge pin, it is a model 1900. Serial numbers starting with 'A' prefix - most likely indicates Model '08...

Re: H&R Firearms
Great thread, lots of neat information here.
I have a question about a 1972 45-70 Shakari.
Actually looking for a part I am missing off of mine, but would appreciate any information that can be provided.
Value, production numbers, etc.
The part I am looking for is what I believe to be a front sling mount that also seems to secure the front bbl band to the stock. There is a small concave depression in the band with a hole in it, that is where I assume to be something missing. LOL
I have been looking for this part for quite a while now and have held off on coming up with something homemade to hold the band in place. It seems the band is actually wanting to part company with my rifle under recoil. Thankfully, my front sight keeps it from dissapearing completely.
Thanks for any information you could provide.
