I can not confirm this with any official source. But, two local PD officials say the Police chief hung himself in his Jail cell at a federal detention facility.

More facts as they become available.

Two uniformed officers from an ajacent municipality. This was at a fire department fuction.

Then, perhaps you should have waited for an official confirmation. Nothing ticks people off more than unconfirmed rumors, or bait and switch time headlines on forums threads.

For all we know, he hung himself but isnt' dead. Or he was "hanging" tinsel for Christmas and slipped and caught his wrist on the tinsel. Thats how rumors work.

Just checked the local news sites. There is nothing on there about it.

I just looked on vinelink.com inmate locator and it says he is still in custody .

it would usually list if there was a death or suicide .
