Custom 11-87 shotgun Finished
Had a request to do a 11-87 for a good friend, I decided to do mine first.....started life as a early 11-87 premier. He wanted something like the 870's I rebuild. Stripped the 11-87 to bare receiver and smoothed all the metal on the internals and exterior did some radiusing to smooth transitions. Took the Vent rib barrel down to 18 inches and adjusted gas ports to function correctly, Added all new stainless gas parts to insure positive ejection. Re crowned the barrel and polished. Added Plus two Scattergun extension, removed factory Mag divots to allow extension to feed properly, Wilson spring kit and High vis follower added, Added the Speed feed forearm and made two custom rail mounts. Mounted 2.5 inch rails on the forward section of forearm and recessed all mounting hardware and epoxy bed eveything to insure no movement over time. Radiused new mounting plate and polished the side shell carrier bracket. HAnd fit the GG&G rear sling plate to eliminate the slight gap when using speedfeed stock.
Stripped surefire tactical light down to bare tube and head and media plasted and plated to match weapon, Custom 250 Lumen LED conversion module added. , Single throw lever mount fits perfectly on the custom rails I molded into forearm. Sits nice and tight and along barrel to give great light coverage.
ALl parts were then prepped and I plated entire weapon and sub components in a commercial EN finish. The EN will darn near last forever and provide extreme corrosion resistance while also providing a very slick finish that really does away with the need to lubricate. Have done this process on firearms for over 20 years. Really happy with the way this project turned out and my pictures do no justice to how this thing looks in person. Thought you guys might enjoy seeing the final results.Last edited by Qind; December 18th, 2009 at 04:50 PM.

You did one hell of a job on that 11-87! It looks great.
I could never consider doing that to my 11-87, but I must say, you do nice work.I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning.[

that sure is one purty gun. I'll bet it looks even better with fire flyin out the end of it. If you want to have some fun, take it out and try to shoot some bats sometime. They are hard to hit, and the fireworks look cool as hell.

Re: Custom 11-87 shotgun Finished
Have done that for years in the summer....Get a five gallon bucket of small gravel and throw handfuls of gravel in the air..the bats swoop in on the gravel thinking it's a swarm of insects. This gives you a fighting chance at hitting one. Easy to go through a box of shells to hit one of those guys , and usually you only end up putting a few BB's into a wing to bring them down.
Crazy how they can out move a swarm of birdshot .Last edited by Qind; December 18th, 2009 at 08:30 PM.
