Default Got the OK from my wife...

...so I picked up another pistol today. She approved the purchase when I told her it was a gun that both her and my son could shoot. I love her.

    I picked up a Taurus M94 4" .22 Stainless revolver.
I wanted a pistol that I could use to teach my wife and son with. I was originally looking at semi-autos until a salesman made a good point. If I got the revolver, I could also hunt with it. Nice job Mr. salesman. Too bad you didn't get the sale. (Bass Pro) Found it at Shyda's for $50 cheaper.

I plan on giving her a test drive on Friday.

I first saw it at Bass Pro and almost bought it there. Decided to check around. Shyda's was the third local shop I checked and they beat the next lowest price by $15.
    Happy camper.

Why not support the Mom and Pops stores instead of the big guys that are putting them out of buisness?

I haven't shot it yet. DA trigger is heavy, but SA seems nice. Heading to the range on Friday. I will report back then.

so i am not supporting the big ones..... i would like to say i am actually ripping them off...my own little robin hood moment

Just put it in the gun case and dont tell her about it. Thats what I do but since my collection has doubled in the last few years its getting harder to make up stories of where those guns came from.

I had the same revolver (I bought it used). I will be looking forward to your range report.

I had a problem with mine though. The shells would actually slide out of the cylinder and "catch" on the frame when the cylinder cycled (if that makes sense). This would lock up the whole works forcing me to tilt and shake the shells back into place, or open the cylinder and push the shells back into place. The shop I bought it off of took it back after trying to fix it, which I appreciated. I guess I could have sent it off to Taurus, but the shop was great about it.

I had the Taurus out today. I didn't have time for a lengthy range session, but I did put a few dozen rounds through it.
I started off shooting SA and was very pleased with my results out of the box. First 9 shots were within 2" group. Next I tried DA. First shot in DA was 4" inches low and slightly right. Once I got the feel of the DA, I was hitting tighter groups. The DA is definitely a harder pull on the trigger, but for what I wanted the gun for, I am quite pleased. This will be my teaching gun and I plan on starting my wife and son with SA.
    So far...happy.
