Concealed carry question
I have two doctors appointment in Pittsburgh on Monday August the 6th.
The first one is at Allegany General Hospital and the second at Sewickley Valley Hospital; anyone on the forum know if I can "legally" CCW at these two hospitals in Pittsburgh.
thanks

Re: Concealed carry question
No state law prohibiting carrying in hospital.
Any local ordinances are preempted.
So no. No "law".
The hospital almost surely has policy forbidding carry though. To which concealed means concealed of course

Re: Concealed carry question
I carry to every doctors office or hospital that I or my wife has to go to. If I have to get down to my skivies, my wife will hold my weapon
I think there's a joke in their somewhere

Re: Concealed carry question
Every hospital is likely to have different set-ups, but many years back, I worked at Presby in Oakland (The original UPMC) and during daylight hours, no problem... but after visiting hours, anyone entering the building had to enter thru the ER entrance and there was a metal detector present.
Security would simply ask people to either put it in their car or allow them to lock it up in the security office safe. They were pretty nice about it overall.
Personally, I don't like the idea of leaving it in the car. Especially around Allegheny General. Hopefully someone with firsthand knowledge of either hospital will chime in.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Concealed carry question
Just make sure to take it off if you need to get an MRI. Or hilarity will most definitely present itself.
