Re: Concealed carry question
I carry in the same places any person with a LTC does, including schools. Just remember this line............."for other lawful purpose".
If I go to the court house I don't have to check my handgun unless I'm attending court on the third floor. I can't carry past the secured area of an airport unless I'm on duty or on official business. Since there is no airport in my home turf, I doubt I'll ever have the need or opportunity to do so.
When my son played HS football or my daughter had a concert, I carried. When visiting my kids at PSU I carried. My daughter was in the Marching Band at PSU and I attended several football games there. Carried every time.
There is no law against carrying in a hospital or doctor's office. I've been to both and If I have to disrobe in order to be checked out or have something done I make mention of the fact that I'm a LEO and carrying before I take off my shirt or drop my pants. Like I said, I just hand whatever I'm carrying to my wife.
I went to a new doctors office once and hand to take off my outer sweat shirt. I was carrying OWB and told the nurse and doctor who where in the room....neither batted an eye. In fact, the doctor said he felt more comfortable knowing I was carrying. Don't know if he meant as a LEO or just the fact I was carrying.Last edited by Steve in PA; August 4th, 2007 at 10:55 AM.

Re: Concealed carry question
LOL......well thank you. I've seen too many episodes of Star Trek and Stargate to want clones of me running around!!!
As for your question about others reading and understanding what they read??? Probably a very limited number. Gun laws are not touched on very well during the academy.
I've been adding some CCW info to my firearms instruction to my dept for the last few years. I'm currently in the process of polishing up my presentation (going to do Power Point this year) with a section on CCW and PA gun laws.
