    Gettysburg is in Adams county, not Franklin.

    Well, the "local gun scene" is varied and will take you some time and miles to fully comprehend.

    Franklin County has Ft. Loudon: Keystone Country Store[hunting/fishing/trapping clothing and eqpt];
    Chambersburg: Gander Mountain, Shooters' Delight [an indoor shooting range, with handguns for rent and sale, as well as ammo and other stuff - alternatively known as Shooter's Range], Ft. Chambers [black-powder], Conococheague Trading Co [military, C&R, etc],
    St. Thomas: Conococheague Gun Shop,

    Adams County (Gettysburg area) has, Biglerville : Taylor's Trading Post [a real treat to visit, if only for the drive alone. A vast collection of iron skillets, a show-case cat, and a HUGE inventory of guns, ammo, and extras of all kinds, some of the more exotic firearms, too.]; Gettysburg:Redding's Hardware [used handguns by the bucketfull, some nice Lugers, ammo ofa ll kinds, at prices that will make your hair ache and your teeth itch]-, and maybe more that I don't know of.There is a dealer in the Hanover area who specializes in WWII guns and accoutrements, though I haven't been there yet.

    York County has, In Thomasville/West York area, Stubby Gear [ a dealer in AR's and current gear.]

    Schuman's Gun Shop in Newburg, has a nice selection of stuff,

    Hendershott's in Hancock, MD, but I haven't been there in years, though they used to have a bunch of interesting stuff when I did go in there.

    and these are only the few shops that I know of in the area. There may well be more.

    Welcome to the "scene".
