Default Carrying an NFA Colt 6921, 6933, Who can I confirm with for PA?

I want to check with an attorney and possibly some officials from the counties that I frequent to confirm that an SBR is legal to carry on a PA LTCF. I know it says it in the law but want to confirm possibly with some police departments? How many other people have done this?

I'm not trying to be smart, but do you really think many police departments are going to answer in the affirmative, regardless of the law? Good luck to you, and let us know what you find.

It is, and firearms laws are uniform for the entire state.

Local municipalities are prohibited from imposing their own regulations on possession, so you don't have to worry about being legal in one county and not in another.

I too would suggest you not contact any law enforcement agency to ask for legal advice, and if you need concrete confirmation, pay an attorney to advise you.

Yes, its legal........provided you have a LTCF and the proper documentation for the NFA.

Just curious...why would you want to carry an SBR?

Maybe so, but "awesome" isn't a good reason to carry a firearm.

True, but if you're carrying for the right reasons, there's no reason you can't carry an "awesome" gun.

    Yeah...
My thought processes (limited as they are) equates carrying an SBR with the drive-by, gang banger mentality. Perhaps not the correct "PAFOA" mindset, but as we work to make firearms ownership and use more and more acceptable (and we're working against power political forces and an "anti-" mindset in education), I'm one to promote the responsible aspects of carry. An SBR, as cool as they are, are intimidating to a lot of folks. Carrying one concealed (which would require a long coat (such as a trench coat)) would most likely alienate rather then promote a pro-rights agenda.
Remember the "Trench coat Mafia"? Goggle that phrase...

I'm sure I'll get chastised in response to this post (good thing Danp disabled negative repping!!!). But I just don't see "awesome" as a good reason to carry an SBR. But I sure do see more negative connotations in the general public perceptions.

    This post is long enough...

Then what are your thoughts on the open carry of long guns? That's happening more and more these days.
