because "machine gun" trumps "assault rifle" in news media world...bigger, scarier, etc

Probly a Tec-9 or a Hi point............
"machine gun fire" LOL
now if he was a firing an M60 from the window I might find that line credible....
Who brings guns to hotel parties anyways?????????????????
drug dealers maybe?

It sounds like the media had the opportunity to ramp up the hysteria a little bit. "Oh my god, now they are using machine guns!!!"

Of course, we don't know if that UZI was actually a selective fire weapon...could well have been one of Vector's semi-auto versions.
My guess this was a drug deal gone south...Well, pushed 60 too hard so now I am the big SIX-OH. Now I can be a real pain in the ass! And, who says growin' old isn't fun!!

Actually, unless I'm mistaken, the media was correct in the way they portrayed the event. If the firearm used was actually an Uzi, it isn't an "assualt rifle" but rather a "submachine gun" since it uses a pistol cartridge. In order to be an "assault rifle" the firearm would need to use a rifle cartridge.

My God,
someone needs to pass a law so these drug dealers can't just walk into a gun show and buy machine guns! When will people realize the danger of the gun show loophole. I blame special interest groups like the NRA for blocking laws that would prevent them from having machine guns [/sarcasm]

With the prices of full auto anymore you have to be swimming in cash to get one.
Or know a member of the Mexican Army and just buy his M-16.

What is the point of this post?
Speculating on whether it was really "full-auto" or whether the media was spot on with the term "machine-gun" fire?
Does it really matter to the victims whether it was full-auto or just a fast trigger finger?
Looking for reasons to be cynical?
