Feral Hogs in Tobyhanna?
Are there any feral hogs in Tobyhanna? Particularly around Tobyhanna State Park. They have been in the news a lot lately. They seem to be a pest in Missouri and to be shot on site. I hear they are protecting in PA. I have not seen any.

Re: Feral Hogs in Tobyhanna?
Nope. No wild swine around here. I've heard rumors that there may be an odd one or two in northern Wayne Co. However, I've not been able to find anyone in the area who knows of one personally. After calling the regional PAGC office, IIRC, the nearest area w/ pigs was out around Bradford Co., which is about an hour + to our northwest.
If you have any interest in taking a ride to scout sometime I might be tempted to go exploring.
How's the house coming along? Is that your place w/ the "If you dump, I shoot" sign? Ouch!Sed ego sum homo indomitus

Re: Feral Hogs in Tobyhanna?
Yep that's me. The foundation and septic is done. The house is going in tomorrow. Well and electric going in next week. I'll put up a mail box tomorrow. I will take the sign down soon and just leave a no dumping sign so that people don't think I'm completely nuts. I don't want the sheriff to use that against my when I apply for my LTC. The sign was put up mostly as a joke to my contractor.
If you are not working, come by and say hi. I will be shooting my ball/cap revolver and Kentucky rifle. I should be the there around 11am. The first part of the house should be there around 12. I should be there till 5 pm.Last edited by tsafa; December 3rd, 2009 at 01:10 PM.

Re: Feral Hogs in Tobyhanna?
I may just do that. That should be about the time I take a break from hunting to go home for lunch. I'll be just north of you on SR 196 about 1/2 mile.
I saw a REALLY nice buck there about a week and a half before the season started. There's scrapes and poo all over the ridge. Just saw a fresh (as in today) scrape and some fresh raisinettes in that area this evening. I'll be back there at 0-dark-thirty tomorrow. I got a feeling that he's still spooking around. I just need to be there when he is.
See you then.Sed ego sum homo indomitus
