Help with ANI-Carry wife
My wife who is no foe of guns, actually likes them, hates for me to carry. Especially now with our one month old son being around. I believe now IS the time to carry. With the rash of break-ins around our home, and some shootings and the such. I think it is imperative that I have the option to be able to protect my family by carrying a gun.
I have no intention of being a John McClean if there is a problem, more than likely I will take my family and flee if something goes down. But if I am backed into a corner and there is a psycho walking toward me, I like to know I will at least have something to protect me.
We actually got into a fight about it. Is there anything I can do, short of not telling her when I am carrying, to make this a little smoother?

I can't relate.
Like you said SHE has the problem, not you. She needs to learn to deal with her problem. You can help her, of course, with a rational explanation, but in the end, it's your responsibility to provide for your family.Veritas Vos Liberat

Would your wife be interested in taking a Gun Safety course? I bet her attitude would/could be influenced more if she was getting information and instruction from a Firearms Instructor......

This topic has been covered quite often lately. Ultimately it comes down to exactly what LastManOut said.

Re: Help with ANI-Carry wife
What gets me though is that my wife does not mind firearms. Her dad is a NRA sharpshooter, shoots at shoots all around the area including Camp Perry, so she is no stranger to living around guns.
I never want to pull my gun out, and will most likely run, but in the end if it the chips fall and I cant' run, I like to know I have options.
I say you wouldn't have sex without a condom, you wouldn't drive without a seatbelt, so why go out without a gun?

Re: Help with ANI-Carry wife
I can understand.. With the child around . The most important thing is keeping out of the reach of little fingers as they get older.!st get her involved in where to and how to keep it around the house and keep the kids safe. Than tell her that it is your job to protect your family, that's why it's there.get her involved in gun safety, and how to use it Show her so she's not afraid of it. most people are afraid of somethings till the fully understand it. Are you gonna carry it at home or have it handy??

Do you know why she doesn't like your carrying? E.g., is she afraid of an accidental/negligent discharge? Afraid of it falling out or being taken away by an assailant? Or something else?
