Other gun forums

I was browsing some other gun forums (won't say which so I don't piss off any people here who might be members there) and noticed that some of their threads wander off into oblivion.

I know we have a tendency to get off topic but at least it still resembles conversation. Some of the posts on the other sites come way out of left field and you just have to say "huh?" when you read them.

I was reading a comparison of the BAR and the Bren and they meandered off into a comment about someones dad shooting 5" rockets in basic training. And I use the word "comment" loosely. Only parts of it seemed to be made of words.

Has anyone else noticed this with other gun forums?

I view PAFOA as basically the best gun forum out there. There are only a few other sites that I will even visit, because most of them suck. I do visit theakforum.net and will check out m4carbine too.

Those 3 are really the only ones I visit.

Before PAFOA I frequented quite a few other forums. I too am down to 3:

1. PAFOA
2. Snipers Paradise
3. Tn Gun Owners

I haven't been to the other two in about a month though. This site is the best of them all.

Internet forums in general suck as a medium of communication. Gun forums are no different.

Col. Cooper said it best, "the internet seems ideally suited to those who have nothing (of substance) to say, but insist on saying it anyway". He was being polite.

i used to frequent The High Road (both of them), and other forums, but i stopped. mostly because what Warpt said, but for a few other reasons as well: too much censorship, too many 'net ninjas, excessive trolling, cliqueish behavior, and overt PCness. occasionally i'll drop in over at www.defensivecarry.com, but not so much these days, because of the anti-OC sentiment over there, and their catholic school nun mods (they infract for any little thing), and i like to hang out at www.jerzeedevil.com, because they have titties.
