For security reasons the following items are not permitted in the Judicial Center: cell phones, cameras, pagers, radios, compact disk players, any type of recording device, pepper spray, mace, tools, cutting instruments, electronic games, food or drink, and any other item Sheriff's Office Personnel determine to be a security risk.

I'm guessing that "any other item" would cover firearms?

How about sharpened pencils, you can kill someone with them, are they going to confiscate every pencil.

You are correct. Weapons are not permitted in the Judicial Center. Therefore, the Deputies will be happy to assist you in checking in your carry weapon and securing it in one of the numerous lockers provided for just this purpose.

How about sharpened pencils, you can kill someone with them, are they going to confiscate every pencil.

I have been allowed to conceal-carry my pen or pencil in the past. Apparently they have grown rather lax.
