Mechanicsburg Ordnance
Just wanted to let everyone know that I just purchased a new Smith and Wesson M&P 9 Compact from here and really enjoyed the experience. Its a small shop and there isn't a huge selection of firearms in-stock (nice, but not huge). But, what they lack in size they more than make up for in great service. I had a lot of questions before I bought my new pistol and they were happy to take the time and make sure that I was content before plunking down my hard earned money. On top of all that, they beat the price as quoted by the bigger stores by more than $100! I'd definitely go to them again!
Here's their information

They're on the side of the "Artisan Stone Building". Takes some looking to find it, but well worth it.Last edited by Jaston; December 17th, 2010 at 12:32 PM. Reason: spelling (oops)

Re: Mechanicsburg Ordnance
Welcome to the forum Jaston.
I agree, Mechanicsburg Ordnance is a nice small shop.
I have been dealing with Richard for some time now, and he's a nice guy.
I like the hours he keeps, and he is very to close to where I live.
I am glad you had a pleasant experience, and congrats on the new M&P.Timor mortis morte pejor.

Re: Mechanicsburg Ordnance
Rich is who I use for when I need transfers typically, then we get chatting and before you know it, an hour has passed.
But, I do have a question for you guys, do you know anyone in the area who does transfers for multiple receivers for one price or at a discount? I was going to order a handful of AR recievers, but Rich charges the same transfer fee for each reciever. I lose any savings of getting the bulk order of receivers if I have to pay the regular transfer fee for each one.

Re: Mechanicsburg Ordnance
I'd like to add my voice to the Mechanicsburg Ordnance choir. I have bought four guns from Richard over the past few months, one involving a trade, and two requiring ordering, which was handled expeditiously.
I have found Richard to be personable, knowledgeable, courteous, and offering excellent prices for new guns and extremely fair offers on trades. He has even matched another store's price on a recent purchase. MO is a great asset to the local gun community. Sometimes small is better. And he's real close to Maureen O'Hara's BBQ trailer over on Williams Grove Rd....guns and "Q", it don't get no better!

Re: Mechanicsburg Ordnance
Has been nothing but nice to me. Had some sites put on by his guy and I can't be happier. They didn't over charge me or anything.
I recommend the Mechanicsburg Ordnance.

Re: Mechanicsburg Ordnance
I don't remember - I had to call. I think the shop phone is his cellphone, so you'll get a prompt reply!

These are the hours Richard has posted, but I don't think he keeps strict shop hours.
It would probably be best to call first.
I hope to see him tomorrow for a transfer myself.

Re: Mechanicsburg Ordnance
We use him as our FFL when we have firearms shipped in, and he's great! Fees are reasonable, he wasn't annoyed when I couldn't make it up there for a few days to pick up the last firearm, and it was a nice, quick transaction when I did make it up there.
