    Default Two new guns

Well, I went to Surplus City today for the Thanksgiving sale and these two used gems followed me home. They are very out of character from what I normally buy - post pics of but I’ve been looking for them for a while. I had just been waiting to find them at the right price and condition.

First up is a Remington 700 bdl in 30-06 with a scope. It barely looks used. This one was $379. Note the pistol bag - they were giving everyone buying a gun the free bag.

Next up is a Marlin 336 RC 30-30 - pre safety and with a smooth butt stock - ie no pistol grip. It also came with a cheap scope. It looks a little used up but nothing some tlc can't correct. This one was $250. All in all, i think the deals were pretty good. I've seen the -06's going for $400 plus and i've seen the smooth butt Marlins near $500. The smooth butt stock of the Marlin is hard to find in 30-30 - they only made so many.

    And here they are together.

Yeah but they are going to be even closer in the safe. I need another safe . I guess that's not a horribale problem to have.

All Remington bdl's look the same - but, do you know his serial number? That would tell us for sure.

Nice stuff. Safes breed almost as fast as guns.

According to the fine folks over at the Marlin forums, this one is a 1960. Me, i have no idea how to date it with the serial number.
