Default need someone to install front sight on 1911

I have a series 70 colt govt that had a set of adjustable rears and a really tall front sight put on. Well after shooting this past weekend the front sight is missing lol. So I have been told this is fairly common on the series 70 as the front sights are not dovetailed in. So I am in need of someone preferrably in the scranton/wilkes-barre area that can install a front sight for me. Anyone local?

I can make a dovetail cut in your slide and fit the sight of your choice. I am in Chalfont, Pa.

If that's too far to drive, you can mail the slide. Turn around is running about 1 week from the time I have the parts.

PM me if you want contact info.

Go into town to Pocono Pistol Club. Chuck Lutz is either there or at Dunlebergers. he`s a well known gunsmith and a 1911 expert.

I know Karl is not local but he has been rated (Gun Magazines) as one of the top 10 1911 gunsmiths in the country. He is personable and not out to jam you for money. I have been up at his shop numerous times and found him helpful in almost any area (tokerov, Fox Sterlingworth) eeven those not related to 1911s. Folks from literally all over the world send him their weapons (FBI, military, police and just plain people. I had a Springfield .45 in my shop that I could not budge the front site on. He made up a jig to hold this particular model's slide, milled out the old and inserted the new (customer provide) and charged $40.00! Hope this helps,
