Synergy - "You're advocating point shooting on the street with a weapon which sprays. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see how the prosecutor would hang you out to dry."
You'd have to be a lawyer.
Are you?

Re: Taurus' The Judge
Synergy - you are correct about the unavailability of the 3" cylinder.
I called Taurus directly.
USELESS.
The first person on the phone is annoyed that I asked "how are you".
Her response, "fine sir, what can I DO for you." Lame.
So I get to another person. Sounds like a Mexican female with a loose grasp of English.
I ask about the 3" cylinder model.
"Yes sir, call a dealer, it's available."
Call dealer. Never seen one, never heard of one.

I wouldn't waste my time arguing with synergy. He bashes Taurus firearms every chance he gets.

Re: Taurus' The Judge
Thanks for the heads-up.
Syn - I have no problem with you not liking a particular brand - you should just be honest and clear about your biases.
For example, I owned a Beretta once and it jammed like a MoFo and the firing mechanism broke after I'd sent about 50 mags through it.
I'd never buy a Beretta again based on that alone. But I recognize that I am biased.

Re: Taurus' The Judge
My opinion of the Judge would be no different were it made by S&W. I've not yet seen a problem pop up with the Judges...and I've seen a good number of them in use.
My issue with the Judge is with the design, not the quality and the company standing behind it.
No, I don't like Taurus guns...but my issues is with the design, not the execution of that design.

Re: Taurus' The Judge
Well I just bought one sunday. Ultralight with a 4" barrel and 2 1/2" chamber.
Only feed it one box of colt and one box of 410 in 7 1/2 bird so far, but it was a whole lot of fun. I didn't buy for defence, more for trail use and just plain fun.

Re: Taurus' The Judge
But as a few have said here, if I want to shoot 45 Colt, there are better choices, right?
My original "thinking" (rationale) behind getting the Judge (besides fun!) was that I might not want to kill someone necessarily. If I get some drunk kid coming at me in my home, I might not be able to discern whether he is armed. I figured I could fire one round of birdshot, (or even the buckshot) at his legs. With the spread, I'd be sure to hit something, even in the dark. Even if he wasn't armed, I believe I'd escape any legal wrath, as he had broken into my home, at night. I don't think I necessary want to kill a mere burglar, no matter how stupid a burglar he is. If he didn't stop, I could have the other 4 holes loaded with e 45's.
