Default Help me find my holster...

In the winter months I wear a hoodie (not the zip up kind) every single day and i'm looking for a rig that i can use to conceal my XDm with under the hoodie. I want to go OWB with this as the IWB option is just too uncomfortable. Based on my research here is what I have determined I am looking for:

    - OWB leather "pancake" style holster
    - Gun must be held rather high and tight to the body
    - Must be under $100
    - It can be any color, as long as it's black

So far the best option I have found is the Bodyguard by DM Bullard. http://www.dmbullardleather.com/1429711.html

I have heard nothing but great things about the Dual Carry, yet nothing at all about the Bodyguard. Anyone with experience with one of these?

Any other suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

I use a Kramer horsehide belt scabbard as my primary holster with a Glock 19. It is in my opinion, as good as it gets for OWB holsters. However, it is over $100. ($126 on thier website).

    Good luck with your search.

I am in the same boat as you. I wear a pull over hoodie 99% of the time in the winter. I use this:

It conceals pretty good under my sweatshirt and it rides kinda high. It's comfortable, (for me, at least) and most of the time my wife says she can't tell I am carrying. I got mine for $49 at a local gun shop. MSRP is $65 on the sight, but like I said, I got it for $49. There is no thumb break, but it does hold good. Don't expect to do cartwheels with it, but it works. Plus it's an OWB and under $100. Good luck in your search. Hope you find what works.

I carry my XD45 daily in either a Don Hume slide or a Tagua open top. Both hold the pistol high and tight. I think I paid about 25 for the Hume and 35 for the Tagua. I am 5' 11", 200lb with a 32" waist. I wear a hoodie or an untucked shirt always. Sometimes I carry in a Blackhawk Sherpa, It's a little bulkier, but it's very quick. I have a DM Bullard Dual Carry that I don't use because it's a little bulky for me that I'm trying to unload.

    bladetech, sidearmor, or raven concealment

not sure which ones make a model for the (M). youll need to check. the bladetachs are good and sturdy, the sidearmor has rotating cant is well made and holds tighter to the body. The raven may be the tightest holding OWB pancake style kydex holster I have ever seen.

My highest ride holster is a UBG Bonneville. It is a very high riding pancake that conceals well. One thing with a high ride holster is your belt. It better be stiff enough or it will flop to the outside. Even moreso with an XDm with it's heavy, loaded grip. The DM Bullard Bodyguard might be a better choice for the XDm because of it's heavy cant. It will help conceal the long grip. Just remember a high ride with a heavy pistol needs a good quality belt.

Have you looked at Mitch Rosen holsters? I have 2 5JR President Express holsters for my Glocks & like them. It'll take about 5 weeks for him to make it, but it's worth the wait.
