Default multiple pistols with a ccw

I have looked all over the internet and cannot find this answer anywhere. I have a ccw and was wondering if i am allowed to carry more than one firearm at a time. If anyone knows that would be great. Thanks.

    j78wat3,

    Welcome to the forum!

The answer is yes. Carry as many as you see fit. Carry as many magazines as you see fit. Carry openly or carry concealed.

You can carry in a car.
You can carry in a bar.

You can carry... oh, sorry. The Dr. Seuss thing was a little over the top, huh?

    Enjoy the forum!

    Welcome j78!

TTBOMK (to the best of my knowledge) - there is no limitation listed in the PA UFA code. I know some states (Nevada comes to mind) make you list the make, model, caliber, and serial # of the handguns you will be carrying (a cousin of mine lives out there and he showed me this.) This however, is not Nevada. We have less sand and our casinos are spread out

AFAIK you can arm yourself like Mad Max in that scene where he disarms to enter barter town..... as long as all of those weapons qualify for legal CCW.
NEED should never enter into a discussion about RIGHTS

Isn't it nice? You can carry as many pistols as you can carry, literally.

True, you might raise a few eyebrows if you carry more than is socially acceptable for the occasion, but the Uniform Firearms Act gives no limit, nor, do I think, would the Pennsylvania Supreme Court allow any based on Lycoming v. Williamsport and other personal property cases.

incidentally, you have a LTCF (license to carry firearms), not a CCW. A CCW is the weapon itself (concealed-carry weapon), and PA does not issue licenses to conceal, just to carry; the license gives you the option of concealing.

    ???

...reading that again, it sounds as though you're saying that PA issues licenses to CARRY a handgun and that is in fact untrue.
The only reason you need the permit is for concealed carry. (on your person or in a vehicle, regardless of the wording on the card.)
You do not need a permit to carry openly.

    Just clarifying that for j78wat3

If I read that incorrectly, I apologize.

carry being a general term, and not necessarily directly on your person either, or while foot. but really worded exactly as it said, the state doesn't issue 'concealed' permits, just 'carry' permits.

and i could be wrong, so correct me if so, but without a permit you couldn't carry (driving somewhere) your pistol or whatever unlocked/loaded/uncased/etc, no?

Yeah, I thought that's what you were saying, but no matter what it's called, it isn't needed to CARRY a handgun. only needed for concealed carry. (on your person or in a vehicle)

I'm tired and your last sentence confused me... You can transport it in a vehicle without a permit, but NOT loaded. (Ya gots ta get to the range somehow!)

    Hope that made sense!
    Goodnight all!
