    Default Any info on this mossberg 590 talo shotgun

    I'm lookin at getting a shotty this model. http://www.galleryofguns.com/Genie/d...spx?item=50771 I just wondering if anybody has one or seen one. Is it a 590 or 590a1 does it have a metal trigger guard?

    Looks like it is the 590A1 SPX model (http://www.mossberg.com/products/default.asp?id=26) which Mossberg lists as a metal guard.

    If you want to save $200-$300 and can do without the ghost rings, bayonet, and metal trigger guard get the standard 590. I think Dunham's has them for $399. I really don't see a need for ghost rings unless you plan on hunting big game with it. I won't even comment on the bayonet. Who cares if the trigger guard is plastic or metal? Does it really make that much of a difference in the function of the gun?

    Is there any other difference between the 590 and 590a1 besides the metal trigger guard? I do like the rail on top of the talo model.

    If I recall correctly, the 590 is tapped on top of the receiver for accessories such as a rail.
