For those that aren't familiar with Holidaysburg/Altoona ... the west loop is a rural area. This wasn't in town/city

All the more reason. Sounds like he's lucky to be alive.

Wake me up when there is an activity during which I should not carry. Other than...well, you know.

Why would one do lawn work at 2300 hours?

That was my question. It doesn't say he was doing lawn work though. He could have been investigating why some asshat was in his yard at 2300.

Still, what's to say you won't be jumped doing your yard work? Dumb yuppie paying more attention to his lawn than his surroundings might look like easy pickings to some stick up kid.
Just because 'perfect' is impossible does not mean we should settle for 'broken'.

What you don't carry when doing the nasty. Ever seen any of the Jason movies. He seems to always strike at that time

he could have been taking his trash out

Plus, yeah.. you could be jumped just the same. In a mans own yard in a rural area. All just the same, regardless of time of day.
