Bought a DPMS Oracle today.

I went to cabelas in april to buy a S&W M&P 15 sport they had on sale and they were out of it so they asked me if I wanted to be put on the list when they come back in I said ok and went home. About a week ago someone from cabelas called me apologizing that nobody had called me sooner (I had actually forgotten about it altogether) and said they could substitute this model instead for the same price 599. Called to make sure they still had it on hold before the drive and they confimed. Went there around 2 and you would think they were giving the store away. After waiting for about an hour to be helped they couldnt find the gun for 45 minutes so now im there for almost 2 hours before I even saw it. Finally got to see it and the manager apoligized and said they would give me 10% off so I was a little happier. I then waited 2 more hours till my paperwork came back since I think everyone in PA bought a gun there today. So when checking out I told the cashier I had a 10% off coupon they had sent me and I had forgotten and he was super nice and said no problem and put it in. So the grand total for this AR was 480 plus tax. Not sure how great the gun is yet but so far it sure seems worth it for the price. I also bought a Bushnell red/green dot sight for it and of course and extra 1000 rounds. Anyone have one? Whats your opinion? Thanks for reading!

I stopped in at cabelas after a 3-gun shoot on Saturday to pick up some powder, some ear protection for my girlfriend, and some targets. What a mad-house. The line at the firearm counter was set up like an amusement park ride (or the line at a welfare office in Philadelphia). Yet another reason why I buy from my local FFLs.

DPMS is made or is owned by the same people that do bushmasters and remingtons. I own a DPMS LRT-SASS that I absolutely love. Well I love shooting it I don't love how fast it chews through ammo.

I defiantly would have held out for the M&P Sport.

Yeah, I'd have held out for the M&P for sure. But that is a hell of a price you got, nicely done.

I have that same ar15 with the same red dot scope. I shot 1-1/4" to 2" groups at 50yards just this morning and I am a novice to the AR platform. Good luck with your purchase!
