Default Why even have the 2nd Amendment?

I don't understand why we have the 2nd amendment if states can do whatever they want and strip citizens of their rights.

Why are the rights of some citizens protected while others can just fend for themselves and hope 911 works like magic, sending officers to appear suddenly at the drop of a hat?

How does this work, I thought the RKBA is a Country level thing, what gives the state the right to say, "No you don't understand, Pennsylvania can have that right because they are over there and we don't care what they do."

All I can say is I'm sorry that you have to live the "Socialist Republic of NJ". Could you possibly find an EMS position somewhere in PA?

Hell, maybe you'll get lucky now that you have a Republican governor, but I wouldn't bet on it.

You misunderstood something there. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are instruments protecting you from the "Federal" Government. What your State King does is not subject to that.

I don't know anything about the Penn area, the only place I've ever visited was Fort Indiantown Gap for training with the army and Philly. I don't know if you guys use only paramedics or EMT-basics, I'm in school right now in Jersey City so I'm kinda really strapped for cash, its pretty funny that the University I go to is in one of the most crime ridden areas and even the security guards don't have guns. I still manage to put concealedcampus.com stickers all over the campus.

It is called incorporation and the 2nd has not been yet. Even though Heller affirmed the individual right, it was in the context of a federal district and not a state - hopefully one of the upcoming USSC cases will result in incorporation covering the states.

Why can't they just unify the country instead of this state to state garbage?

Why do we even have the constitution or the bill of rights, its like having a list of things you should have but can't.

I am totally amazed at the level of repression of the Second Amendment rights in NJ. Me and my buddy Johnny (9yr old,no father, single mom, Hangs out with me) went to a Dicks to get fishing gear and I saw a Cricket .22. I asked if we could see the rifle and the guy behind the counter said not without a permit to buy, drivers lic. and another form of ID and the child cannot handle the weapon.
I said HUH? He said State laws sorry. I said "Its my right to buy this firearm and it shall not be infringed upon". He said "You must be from PA, Not in NJ"
