    Default Renewing my LTCF

I have a LTCF from Allegheny Co but moved to Washington Co. Got a letter in the mail that I needed to renew my LTCF from the Allegheny sheriff. Low and behold my wife lost that letter (please don't ask). Now, I know I need to renew at the Washington Co sheriff's office by 1-29-2010. Do I just walk in there and renew or is there any paperwork that I need to get in order? Any and all help on this is appreciated. I like to have my ducks in a row on important stuff like this before hand. Thanks.

Pay a visit to the sheriffs office of the county that you now live in and explain what has transpired up to the point of your visit and let them advise you on what to do next.

Renewal is basically the same procedure as getting a first time license. Just go to the Washington county Sheriffs office and tell them you need to renew your Allegheny ltcf which is about to expire.

There is no such thing as a Allegheny County LTCF. It is a Pennsylvania LTCF issued by the Allegheny Sheriff.

You can do two things. You can submit a change of address to Allegheny County with your new address and it is good till your expiration date. Or you can go to the Washington County Sheriffs office and complete a form and check renewal.

Info on how to apply for new or renewal LTCF:

Washington County Sheriff’s Office Firearms Division

And there are some real "goodies" on that page too, like them admitting to willfully breaking the law:

The Washington County Sheriff’s office does not issue license to carry permits for out of state residents.

    And this preemption violation::

NOTE: A License to Carry a Firearm gives no one the right to carry a firearm in or on any property whether private, local, state or federal where possession of a firearm is restricted or posted a firearm is prohibited.

And of course the usual references to a "permit" and also misspelling of the word "Applicants" as "Applicatants"

jaron: you wont need the paper that was lost. Just go to Washington Co sheriff's office:

    Samuel Romano
    Sheriff
Courthouse Square 100 West Beau Street
    Suite 101
    Washington, PA 15301
    Primary Phone: 724-228-6840

and fill out/submit the application. New/renewals are handled the same way.

You don't have to be a douche about it.

No, he asked a question and I was trying to help out. I like it when people clarify and answer my questions.
