Default Guns, ammo and training budget

Does anyone on here put money aside - ie actual budget for their firearms, ammo, and training expenses? Or do you just buy things from some other slush fund?

Me, i like to put a few bucks away each pay just for gun / shooting related stuff and lock it in the safe.

If you have a budget how is it looking? Over / under?

Me, i went a little crazy this past year. I sold off some toys in hopes of buying an M16 but then i got laid off - so the M16 was put on the back burner and i bought a few extra semi toys and some ammo. I'm still ahead from the sale of my toys but i did spend more than i normally do.

I would say that i spent about 25 - 30% more than "normal".

Next year i'm buying less toys and taking a training class or two.

So, how is everyone else doing?

No budget per se. If I have extra money and something catches my eye, I buy it. That said, I had extra money from better jobs the last 2 summers, so my shooting expenditures were up.

I'm stuck using lay-away, pay whatever I can each week.

It's nice having a shop that works with people that way.

Tonight, they set a set of Rosewood kimber grips back for me, for when the next Kimber comes in......

Kind of a slush fund with no specific budget.

In 1999, I bought my first Glock pistol.

The ongoing joke was "Dad's saving for his Glock" and the money always seemed to put toward something we needed more than the Glock.

I was getting a bow restrung at a gunshop while there was a Glock "sale" and went back numerous times to fondle the gun I always wanted to get.

I actually left, put the bow into the truck, started to pull out, parked again, went in and bought my G32.

I took a few tactical pistol classes but kind of paid for those on the fly. Then I started doing extra side jobs to pay for ammo and classes. Then more guns and more ammo. Then more classes, guns and ammo. What a damnable vicious cycle.

I stopped taking classes, buying guns and ammo but only because I had to do a new kitchen, gameroom and bathroom.

My knees are pretty bad now so I'm not sure if i can even complete a class.

No specific budget, but most of the money I make for side jobs go to fund my purchases. I've kind of went on a buying spree this year so I'm over what I would have like but I have a logical reason for this

This year is a "Stocking" year, next year I plan on buying less guns and using the money for ammo and training. I plan on taking at least 3 classes most being 3 day classes. I hope to get 4 in if I can so that gives me 9 - 12 days of training.

im a spur of the moment buyer for guns. (thanks to Jim idea, i have a gun on layaway, and another i want to add to that list)

as far as ammo, i buy it when i can afford to, and when i can find it. if both cases match up, i get it. if not i'll only buy what i plan on shooting.
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

If you end up going to that course, let me know. You're going to be in my neck of the woods and there is a great range down here we can hit before or after the class. (http://www.c2shootingcenter-va.com/)
