Good Place near philadelphia (or reasonably close ) to gun shop
I am in the far northeast section of Philly and have hit a couple different shops looking for a decent CC gun. I'm trying to keep the price down under $400 and have had no luck finding anything. It seems like every shop I've been in was just a bit over priced ( some more then a bit ). I have a pa-63 and its not a bad gun, but the sights are crap and its a little heavy for my taste (as a CC). I am looking at maybe a KelTec PF9 or something along those lines. So here is the real question(s)
1 - Recommendations on a thin/small CC 9mm or larger caliber ( on the cheaper side )
2 - A good gun shop with reasonable prices ( under $400) (used is ok)

I wouldn't pay more than $300.00 for a Kel-Tec. Really, I probably wouldn't even pay that much. You should be able to find one for about $250.00.
Johnston's in Croydon.
Classic Pistol in Southampton.
Ready Aim Fire in Bristol.
Mike's Gun Shop in Levittown.
Surplus City in Langhorne? Trevose? Feasterville? Not sure which town, it's on Bustleton.
I'm sure there are quite a few more, that's just my off the top of my head list.Last edited by unloved; November 5th, 2009 at 12:41 AM.

I agree with ya, I am not looking to over pay for the KelTec, it was just one of the guns I was looking at under $400. I haven't actually come across one yet. I would love to go a couple hundred more and really open up my options, but that just isnt in the budget right now.

I always recommend American Arms & Ammo, just a quick trip up 309 in Colmar (north of the Montgomery Mall, and before Zoto's Diner.)
Doesn't take much to justify the gas for that trip from Philly, and their prices are fair.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Nothing wrong with a Kel-Tec. I have two. They're not as pretty as some, but they're good, inexpensive guns.

If you make the trip to Surplus City on Bridgetown Pike (or whatever Bustleton is called on the other side of street road) there is G & G Outfitters.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Tanner's in Jamison, PA - right on RT 263. Go a little farther and hit Quinby's on RT 313 just south of Dublin. Both usually have a great selection of used guns and both have good to great pricing. Good luck in your quest.

Re: Good Place near philadelphia (or reasonably close ) to gun shop
When I go to local shops my main interest is usually the used gun case in hopes of finding a too-good-to-refuse bargain. I've had several great experiences at Insite Firearms near Norristown. Last time I was in there I snagged a very lightly used Sig P225 at a great price. They also have a link on their site to print out coupons. I was able to use a $25 off coupon to further reduce the price of the gun.
Tanner's has been on my roadtrip list for a while but I haven't made it out there yet. Hopefully I'll get there soon though.Last edited by photoshooter; November 5th, 2009 at 09:52 AM. Reason: more details

There is also Pistol People in Bensalem.
I must say though, my personal experience with that shop has been way below satisfactory, and others have reported the same on this forum.
Be that as it may, they are still in business, so some people must be happy with their service.==============
