Question firearms training in lackawanna county?

So I've been shooting and CC'ing for a while now, and I have no formal firearms training besides IDPA stuff, and other things I do myself. I was just wondering what some options I would have locally are as far as training goes? I know that place in downtown Scranton only does the ACT 235 stuff for LE or whatever. Anything would be appreciated, thanks.

I think you're referring to Heberling's Sport Shop just off Rt 6 a few miles west of Honedale. They have an indoor pistol range (8 lanes/50'). I believe they offer "First Steps" course. Web site: www.heberlings.com
Been planning on taking it myself.

Doesn't Scranton still have an NRA club. I know back in the 50's and 60's there was the Scranton NRA Club, they had both indoor and outdoor ranges, held all kinds of courses for Rifle and Pistol. I was a member back then and it was a LARGE club. I moved in the early 70's so have had no contact with them since then.

When doing an on-line search for area ranges a few months ago I came upon these: "Scranton Rifle & Pistol Club" (848-4288). $100/yr + NRA membership required. I think range near Lacka State Park?

And Scranton-Leach Rifle Range, 109th Infantry, 310 Cherry St. (963-4642). Don't know anything about this one.

That's the one "Scranton Rifle & Pistol Club", when I was a member back in the 50's and 60's it was a very large club with all kinds of shooting actives. There indoor range was at the 109th Infantry Armory and there outdoor range was the Scranton-Leach Rifle and Pistol Range. Nice to see that there still around.
