Default Charger Safety Detent Plunger Spring

Now, I am not mechanically inclined or gifted, but I did decide to modify my Charger's bolt release. I swapped out a bolt release on my 10-22 a few months ago, so I had an extra bolt release on hand. I made the modification ok, and was tightening the stock screw during the re-assembly when I noticed the safety sticking out too far on one side. I looked at the safety and saw the spring was misshapen and protruding. And then it came out. The spring has been stretched on one end. I figured I needed a new spring, so I called Ruger and they are sending me one.

I have looked over the manual and am not sure. I Googled for an answer, and found the advice not to monkey with safety, as it can be a real pain to re-assemble.

I have the safety, the safety detent plunger. The safety detent plunger spring is on its way. What I don't have is any instructions on how to put them together. I don't know if the safety goes in with the one long notch on top, or the two notches on top. I don't know where the spring goes. Does the plunger go on top or bottom?

    Any guidance is appreciated.
