    Default Firearm question for LEO.

Is there any truth behind "law enforcement discounts" when buying a firearm?

I hear things such as, if a Glock 17 costs civilians 600 on average, a LEO can buy the same gun from the same gun shop, for less money.

Or that they can order directly from glock, for about $400.

Also, colt 6920's can be had for $750-800 direct from colt if you're a LEO.

This is just stuff I've heard over the years, and some people were talking about the other day. None of them are LEO's, just know a guy who knows a guy who is, etc.

I wanted to get some clarification.

Also, there are special magazines for law enforcement use only? what is that about? (this is really my own question).

A local shop (Delias) is a police distributor and told a marine I know that yes, LEO's get discounts on certain firearms at their shop.
Just because 'perfect' is impossible does not mean we should settle for 'broken'.

Yes, some dealers will pass on discounts to LEO's buying new firearms. The deal actually comes from the manufacturer, not necessarily the dealer themselves.

There are no special "LEO only" magazines in PA.

    The clear and orange magazines?

I've seen them before in person, just didn't ask because the guy was a raging police officer.

The discount, like posted prior, is through the manufacture.

I bought a H&K USP LEM .40 for $495.00 directly through H&K and only had to pay the FFL the transfer fee of $35.00. Most other manufactures have their own discounts for LEO's.

The mags marked for LEO and military use only are hi-cap magazines from the AWB era.
