Man arrested for having gun on school property
Posted in News on October 27th, 2009 at 6:30 pm by Bill Devlin

A Willow Grove man attending an adult education class at the North Montco Technical Career Center class was arrested Monday for bringing a weapon onto school property.

Towamencin police said Christopher Anfuso, 40, had a permit to carry a firearm but it was illegal for him to have the gun on school property, police said. Police said Anfuso had a semi-automatic pistol with a loaded magazine in his vehicle.

Police said Anfuso had told another student about the gun, triggering an investigation by school authorities, who then contacted police.

No threat to use the firearm or other threat of violence was reported, police said.

Time for the 'other lawful purpose' clause to be tested.

If God didn't intend us to have guns why would he have given us a trigger finger?

Just what I was thinking, only it should be tested by someone who is aware of it, and willing to put together a defense. This could establish a precedent, and not in a good way.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Provided he even knows about. Hopefully he'll get a lawyer versed in firearms law.

That's why votec is crap...the definition of "school" under the law ends up being so broad that that a technical career center (I'm assuming night classes here) get's the same status for weapons free as a high school...

what next? field trips to city parks make the parks de-facto playgrounds and thus "school property" and a crime to carry upon?

but as was said earlier, the guy was an idiot for telling someone else he had it in his car...the possibility of someone overhearing and going and stealing it being first and foremost in my mind....

I also like the "with a loaded magazine" bit....as if having it with an empty mag would be better?
