BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania woman who police said was shot to death while hunting Saturday was to be the main witness in a rape trial next month.

State police said Monday that the death of 21-year-old Racheal Lynn Perryman of Port Matilda is being investigated by the state police, county coroner and state Game Commission.

Authorities said Perryman and another person were hunting in Black Moshannon State Game Lands in Union Township when she was shot in the chest with a muzzle-loader. Perryman's hunting companion was not identified.

Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers has not yet ruled on the death.

Prosecutor Stephen Sloane said the charges in the rape case will probably be withdrawn as a result of Perryman's death.
That sucks... not much else to say
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

This story just sounds fishy to me. She was found after being shot with a muzzle loader, the person she went hunting with has not been identified, she was to be a witness in a rape case?

What a fucking waste... A woman who goes hunting!!! Does this ass clown know how rare a find that is?

Local news didn't say anything about the muzzleloader. It is a shame that it happened though. They were running her picture with the story and one of them was a post hunt pic of a doe.

It seems really fishy to me too.
From the news last night, and from the news on my ride to work this morning:
The defendant in the rape case has been/will be questioned.
Her current boyfriend has retained a public defender as well.

Why didn't the companion do anything? Last I checked muzzle loaders were single shot, surely the companion had a firearm?
