Firearm application lookup
Folks,
Is there a way to look up whether a PA resident has applied for a firearm license? Not sure if there's a database or an agency one can call or query online. Thanks in advance for the help.

Now why would you want to have access to that information?

Purely for personal reasons. If you must know, I'm concerned about someone's safety. So does something like this exist?

That information is (rightfully) not available to the public as far as I know. If you are concerned about someone's safety I would highly suggest you contact the proper authorities as opposed to trying to do detective work on your own. They will have the proper resources to investigate such claims properly.

IMO, you are asking to invade someone's private information. I don't know about you, but I certainly would not want that information being released to the public. Sounds like there is more to the story than you are telling us. In other words spidy senses tells me there is a "shady" agenda.
I know I probably watch too many movies. HAHA...but seriously, if you had a carry permit...that's your business, not anyone that wants to find out.

Yes, thank god this list is not made public.
if i recall correctly, the list is only available to the PA state police.

Local police can have a persons info run to see if they have a permit. It might be a PSP data base that the 911 Comm Centers have access to.

Re: Firearm application lookup
i was wondering about this. and i asked a few friends -one was a philly cop- he stated he can only run a philly ltcf no out of counties. i also asked a pa trooper about it. and he was like we dont get that info it is a sheriffs license. the only info they can get on their car computer is dl,reg status plus ncic wants.
