ranges that allow FA but do not allow FA, WTF?
I've noticed my range and most other ranges that i've viewed their rules on websites allow full auto firearms but do not allow the use of full auto firing for example
my range allows them to be fired but only in semi auto and the range by my camp (Hi-La) only allows 5 rounds per mag / belt.
does this make sense to any of you guys?

Most clubs around here won't even let you in with FA, they get all excited when you bring in a belt fed.
[most wouldn't notice if you were running select fire on a subgun, depending on what model]
If God didn't intend us to have guns why would he have given us a trigger finger?

it's all about liability. My range allows them but you have to get special permission from the Board members.

lol, when i joined my range, i asked if they had any restrictions on what you can shoot, and got told "nope, you can bring whatever you want." then the first time i brought out a mac11, i got the cops called on me. then was later on told (after we showed up with a few beltfeds) that we were allowed to bring anything excepts rocket launchers. :-/ gotta take away all my fun.

I believe the reason for the F/A restrictions by most clubs is to prevent rounds from going over the backstop and off the range. I've been to a few F/A shoots and seen the muzzle climb dramatically with a novice pulling the trigger. Our club organizes 1-2 F/A shoots a year and we use a bay that's virtually a boxed canyon with 50-60 foot walls to make sure all rounds stay on the range.
