You'll be arrested for trespassing since the university is allowed to have this rule.... If you don't like it you could try suing them, but you'll lose.

This is where the whole thing starts from. You might lose for trespassing.
Then you could argue you rights were violated by an agency that takes a significant possibly, a significant majority of its money from the state.
Thus making it public property.

Post offices and courthouses are public property too. It may be unconstitutional to forbid carry on public property, but it's enforceable. Your legal theory is solid IMO, but you'll still lose.

Post offices are federal property and court houses are state/federal property.
A university that receives millions a year in funding from the state, well its pretty debatable. I don't think it's a loss. I think you need a damn good lawyer and alot of money.

I don't get it, on what grounds would you be suing?

Sounds like a sacred cow a jury wouldn't be willing to dispell. JMO.

They are wierd about it... I when I was in the dorms there, a kid had a rifle in his room... The kid was a bit strange and should not have a gun, do to his mental stability... But he was caught and everything was ok... They just took it and locked it up at the police station... After that I kept mine locked up in my car while at school... shhhh

I don't believe I said anything about suing for damages. That was someone else.
I'm talking about establishing state funded schools as public ground, where the UFA still stands. Thus forcing state funded schools to allow the legal carrying of firearms.

The UFA has nothing to do with "public grounds." It's a law the restricts the actions of municipalities, counties, and other political subdivisions. It says that those entities can't make laws restricting the carrying of firearms. State funded schools are not bound by the UFA, and they're not making laws anyway. They're making rules that they can enforce on school grounds by eviction.
ETA: I thought you were saying something else entirely. The government has declared some private property "places of public accommodation," and then argued that the bill of rights is enforceable there--specifically, to stop businesses from barring blacks. That, plus incorporation, makes a persuasive argument that no "place of public accommodation" can infringe the RKBA. Even more delightfully, this obviously applies to airports, which are de facto federal property.
