Block Shoot. Jonestown Fish & Game
Block shoot at Jonestown Fish & Game on Sunday, November 1, 2009 starting at 1:00, doors open at noon, bring your family and friends!
Open to the public, membership not needed to participate. You could win turkeys, meat trays and MONEY!
12 gauge guns only, 30 inch maximum barrel length, shells are provided by the club.
Adjustable and interchangeable chokes are permitted. (Barrel length is measured to the end of the choke if you have an external choke).
Refreshments and food available at very reasonable prices.
$3.00 per shot, shoot in every event or only a few. Even if you don't shoot at all you'll still have chances to win prizes.
Come out and socialize, make new friends, win prizes, get some fresh air on a crisp autumn afternoon, you'll be glad you did.
The ranges will be closed to all other shooting during the block shoot.
Please note that Sunday, November 1, 2009 is the date we switch from Daylight Saving Time back to Standard Time.
Don't forget to change your clocks.
On the other hand, if you show up an hour early you could help us prepare for the shoot!
We have never been rained out! (That doesn't mean it never rained on us, it means that we still hold the shoots even if the weather isn't perfect).
We shoot at paper cards, no blocks will be killed or injured during this event.

Re: Block Shoot. Jonestown Fish & Game
We usually have at least 15 - 20 shoots and plenty of wheel spins.
The prizes this time around are going to be turkeys, meat trays and money.
We usually shoot until all prizes have been won or until dusk, whichever comes first, typically between 4:00 - 5:00, it depends a bit on the weather and the turnout. I think sunset will be just before 5:00 that day.
The monthly meeting will be immediately after the shoot instead of the usual 7:30 and it's usually a fairly short meeting on block shoot day.
Last year the meeting after the November block shoot started at 4:30 and adjourned at 4:50. The year before that the meeting was from 5:00 - 5:45.

The shoot will go on even if the weather forecast is right and we do have occasional showers. I'll have at least 3 kinds of oil and some rags in case we do get a shower or two for anyone wants to wipe down their gun, WD-40, Remoil and CLP. Maybe something else too.
