Can anyone host a group shoot in Monroe?
jcabin and I want to get a group shoot set up here in Monroe county, but neither of us belong to a private club. Is there anyone in the area that belongs to one that could host? It seems like all the group shoots take place too far from Monroe...

I do not belong to a private club but agree that a group shoot would be cool if in Monroe county. Will continue to look for updates if it happens.

Setting up a shoot = doing all the work. I write that having set up two shoots, main event and rain date. I would suggest that if you guys are really serious about doing it that at least one of you join a club that will be amenable to your activity and go from there. Otherwise it is just asking someone else to do an awful lot of work and put up with a lot of headaches just for people to come and have fun.

Re: Can anyone host a group shoot in Monroe?
Pocono Pistol Club is not a real Club, it's a money makeing business. If or / when GL-127 re-opens you can reserve the range for a shoot at no cost if it's a real shoot.
I think you have to give them 30 days notice and they will close down the range for most any organized shoot.
If all you want to do is get together with a bunch of guys to make noise with guns, well I dont think they will close it down for something like that, but if it's some kind of organized shoot I know they have done it in the past.
What kind or type of shoot would it be, Rifle, Pistol, ?.

Re: Can anyone host a group shoot in Monroe?
I just had a thought.
I have a friend that owns a quarry just off 715 (going towards Brodheadsville) ... We (he, I and Tootie) have shot there before ... I'm wondering if he would be open to renting it to us for a shoot.
I'll give him a call over the next few days and see if he is open to the idea.
