First time hunter scores!
I've been helping my neighbor and his 12 year old son with deer hunting. The boy got his first deer (a doe) this afternoon. He made a nice shot with our spare .243 (model 700 youth). The deer ran about 40yards and piled up.
Half the neighborhood showed up when we drove in their driveway. I thought he was gonna burst with happiness and pride. I'm happy that I've got two new folks into hunting (and there are two younger brothers behind him).9mm = 45acp set on "stun"

Great to hear!
I've been introducing my wife to hunting and am looking forward to her first deer. I'm hoping it will lead to getting my son and daughter to give it a try as well. Nothing would please me more than to be able to take them all along on my hunts.
Here is to hoping their success will encourage them to keep at it"When the winds of change blow hard enough, the most trivial of things can become deadly projectiles." - Unknown.

Re: First time hunter scores!
I took my 11yo daughter out as part of the PGC youth mentor program. She took her first buck opening day, a 3pt. She felt like a rock star back at camp, and at the butcher. She tried to wear her vest and hat to school to show everyone, and she also took the picture we printed and framed to school, and her Girl Scout meeting to show everyone.
Guns are dangerous, but no guns is more dangerous.

That is just awesome. Getting new people into the outsoor sports and then having them be successful has long been the best part of it all for me.

Re: First time hunter scores!
My brother got his first deer on the second day of rifle season.
He outdid a bunch of us seasoned hunters. Well worth sitting in the cold. And he had dad and I there to share in the moment.
