Ive been searching online for any good videos on shooting and holstering techniques, however, there are so many It was hard for me to find a good one. So I decided to start this thread where others from this forum could post the videos that they believe has helped them the most.
If you know a couple of good ones, post em here. Thanks. AATROOPER

Re: Pistol Training Videos
I have a better idea for you. Don't worry about the videos. Go to a local IDPA match and just watch the competitors. You'll be able to tell the good safe practices very quickly. You'll even get a feel for the types of holsters that "work" best. On that point note that (in my opinion) if you must use two hands or look at your holster in order to re-holster your pistol, you're using the wrong holster.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, if you're using a jacket that has waist adjusting drawcords on the inside, get rid of them or at the very least tie and shorten them so they cannot get caught in the holster or trigger guard when reholstering, you'll understand why immediately especially if you're using a Glock.Last edited by Brick; October 18th, 2009 at 06:25 PM.

Re: Pistol Training Videos
I can show you a good draw technique. Practice this for a while, it will help with IDPA as well as self defense.
lets do it by the numbers
ONE
TWO
THREE
FOUR (not low ready, there is a target sitting on the table)

Re: Pistol Training Videos
Videos, books, magazines are helpful sources of information, but nothing can replace being instructed by a certified firearms instructor.
There's not a book or video that can observe your gun handling skills and provide feedback.

Re: Pistol Training Videos
Videos are an excellent addition to one's training program, after having received proper training, they can help you to remember certain steps that you might have forgotten, etc.....
One of the best Pistol Training series that I have in my collection is from Clint Smith, Basic Handgun Skills and Basic Handgun Tactics.
If you check out the Thunder Ranch website, he has several DVDs listed.

Re: Pistol Training Videos
The video you posted in the response of an idiot to a training blunder which should put the school out of business.
Those are new shooters shooting inches from a photographer, with live rounds.
As with most things on the internet...consider the source.
As for good info...I tried to compile a list of it, see the link in my signature. Kyle Lambs rifle drills are great, pistol-training.com has a lot of good tips posted, Brian Enos's forums have a lot of good tips and drills on them to get better at stuff, Larry Vickers Tactical Tips on his site are good reading, etc.
Enos's book, Plaxco's book, Lawrence's book, Sanford's book, Lamb's book, Howe's book...all are worth picking up.
Clint Smith has DVD's, so does Magpul. Matt Burkett has a series of DVD's for competition shooting.
Shooting matches, watching yourself on camera and on the clock....all will help you grow as a shooter.
